The difference

Why Davits Doesn't Solve the Problem

Davits attaches the Dinghy behind the transom. Right where the movement is greatest in following seas—and where it gets in the way of the wind vane pilot, the swimming platform, and the stern line.

With Davits

  • Dinghy oscillates freely behind transom
  • Leverage forces on railing and superstructure
  • Swimming platform blocked
  • Two people for recording and watering
  • Durable Metal Structure at transom
  • When a wave comes from behind, it strikes the boat

With TenderConnect

  • Dinghy is firmly attached to Transom—no wobbling
  • Forces go into the hull, not into a boom
  • Swim platform remains usable
  • One person, under two minutes
  • Recordings are flat and barely noticeable
  • Windproof and wave-resistant while underway

What owners say after the season

★★★★★

We had to think of a way to transport our dinghy and came across Tender Connect and have
Tender Connect purchased. We are super satisfied and it really is to be used as it is shown in the film.
We have an old sailing classic and are not very wide, but even that is a problem at all.
Conclusion: a great system.

TenderConnect Installation

Carlos Bang Sampol May 2021

… We’ve now been using TenderConnect for three months and have sailed from Mallorca to Ibiza and back twice, including in 1.5-meter waves. In my opinion, the system is currently the most hassle-free solution for addressing the vexing transport problem on yachts without a Beiboot garage. It was important to us that the system could be operated by a single person, including the installation and removal of the outboard motor.

Peter Steidl, Nuremberg Balearic Islands

The main advantage over other systems—including Davits—is its stable mounting during crossings. Of the 1,600 sm we covered during the summer months, we literally have about 1,000 sm of Mediterranean crossings under our belt with TenderConnect.

Thomas Schwabe Mediterranean, positive Transom

We’ve been out on the water with the TenderConnect all season now and have come to really appreciate it. Maneuvering in tight pit lanes and when docking and undocking, in particular, offers many advantages. In the past, we used to tow our Dinghy behind us or hoist it onto the deck and moor it—a time-consuming process that leaves unsightly scratches.

Bernd-Uwe Koschnicke Hanse 325, Baltic Sea

Everything is of very good quality, I am very satisfied with the item. Grade A+

Before buying

Is the TenderConnect a good fit for my yacht?

Three things are crucial: the shape of the Transom, the width of the Dinghy, and the position of the ladder. Send us two photos of the Transom—we’ll let you know in advance if it’s a good fit, and if not, why.

Frequently Asked Questions

What customers want to know before buying

Do I have to drill into the Transom?
Yes, both brackets are bolted to the Transom. Drilling templates are provided to ensure that the position is precisely marked. For boats where the Transom is not accessible from the inside, there is a version for exterior mounting—it does not require through-bolting.
Will this hold in a following sea?
That’s exactly what the system is designed for. Because the Dinghy is attached to the Transom instead of being connected behind the transom, it can’t swing out. The video „Under Gennaker, Wind from Aft“ shows five minutes of sailing with the wind coming from behind.
Can I still get to the swim platform?
Yes. The Dinghy is mounted vertically on the Transom, leaving the platform clear. The exact location of the swim ladder varies from yacht to yacht—please send us two photos of the transom, and we'll check it out in advance.
Can I do this alone?
Yes, the system is designed for one person. Recording and watering takes less than two minutes. The outboard motor can also be mounted effortlessly – the video for this is in the gallery above.
Where do you deliver, and how much does shipping cost?
We deliver worldwide at fixed flat rates: €12 within Germany, €15 into the EU, 30 twice €70 to all other countries – depending on the destination. From an order value of €1,000 net€1,190 gross) shipping costs are waived – worldwide, regardless of the destination country. The exact amount is displayed in the shopping cart before you place your order. Outside the EU, the recipient pays import duties upon delivery. For the current delivery time, it is best to give us a quick call.
How is this different from Davits?
The Davits hangs the Dinghy from booms behind the transom. The TenderConnect holds it securely to the Transom. The differences relate to lever forces, space on the transom, and the number of people needed for watering—the comparison is shown above.
